🪨 The Patrick's Rock Method
Think of Patrick Star getting a physical letter. He goes to his mailbox, picks it up, and takes it inside his rock. Once it's inside — it's gone from the mailbox. If he checks from a different rock, the letter isn't there. If his rock is destroyed, the mail is gone forever.

Think of the menu board at the Krusty Krab. Whether Squidward is at the register, SpongeBob is in the kitchen, or Mr. Krabs is in his office — they all see the same menu on the wall. If SpongeBob moves an email to a "Fry Cook" folder, Squidward sees that change too.

🧠 Sandy's Exam Tip
For the Security+ exam, always remember: POP3 = downloads & deletes, IMAP = stays & syncs. You'll likely see a scenario question asking which protocol to recommend for a user with multiple devices — that's always IMAP. For a user with one device and limited server storage — POP3.
Also memorize the encrypted ports (995 & 993) — the exam loves to test whether you know the secure versions.
